Afterimage Milan · January 2026

Afterimage explores what lingers after the moment has passed-emotionally, visually, bodily. Like the optical phenomenon it borrows its name from, the exhibition gathers works that persist beyond first contact, imprinting themselves on memory through gesture, colour, and texture.

Across painting, mixed media, and abstraction, the artists engage with inner states rather than fixed narratives. Forms dissolve, collide, or emerge imperfectly, echoing the way feelings resurface once the original stimulus is gone. Serenity and tension coexist; vulnerability is layered with restraint. What remains is not a clear image, but a sensation-something felt rather than fully seen.

Presented in Milan, a city shaped by both classical legacy and constant reinvention, Afterimage reflects on the traces we carry in environments defined by movement, speed, and visual saturation. The works resist instant consumption. Instead, they ask the viewer to pause, to sit with ambiguity, and to notice what surfaces afterward-when the eyes move on, but the body remembers.

Afterimage is not about what is depicted, but about what stays.
