Mat Riley is an exuberant artist from East Sussex who has created a distinctive style all his own. After being offered a place in the esteemed Brighton Art College, Mat had to turn it down to care for his mother - something which can be seen heavily influencing much of his artwork today. With vivid colors and playful brushstrokes, he portrays individuals dealing with difficult situations or roles such as firefighters simply trying to help others; meanwhile channeling inspiration from renowned artists Warhol, Lichtenstein and Craig-Martin. He loves painting on wood particularly due its clean lines and smooth finish that detracts nothing away from each piece's visual clarity when working primarily in acrylic but also screen printing periodically too!
