ARTIST STATEMENT:

My work is rooted in faith, hope, healing, and the quiet beauty found within everyday life. Through painting, I seek to express moments in which the ordinary becomes sacred, revealing the presence of light, peace, and love in familiar places, human experiences, and memories.

Christian faith, nature, music, and Japanese culture are important sources of inspiration in my practice. Music has shaped my sensitivity to rhythm, harmony, silence, and emotion, and these qualities often influence the atmosphere and composition of my paintings. I weave symbolic elements into my work to create visual narratives of compassion, protection, spiritual renewal, and hope for those who have experienced pain or loss.

Rather than simply illustrating religion, I aim to create contemplative spaces where viewers can pause, reflect, and encounter their own sense of comfort and inner light. I believe art can reach beyond language and cultural boundaries, touching emotions that words alone cannot fully express.

My wish is that each painting may offer a gentle place of refuge and remind the viewer that, even in times of suffering, light continues to shine. Through my work, I hope to encourage people to move forward with courage, kindness, love, and faith.

My greatest hope is that each painting becomes a quiet place where someone can find peace, hope, and the courage to continue their journey.

1. Inspiration & Style
What initially inspired you to become an artist, and how did you develop your unique artistic style?
Answer: Since childhood, I have loved both art and music. As I grew older, I came to believe that art has the power to heal wounded hearts and bring hope. Inspired by my Christian faith, nature, music, and Japanese culture, I developed a style that expresses light, peace, and spiritual comfort through symbolic imagery.

2. Creative Process
Do you have any rituals or routines that help you get into a creative mindset when starting a new project?
Answer: Prayer and music are an essential part of my creative process. Before I begin painting, I spend quiet time in prayer or play the piano or accordion. In those peaceful moments, images gradually appear in my heart, and they become the foundation of my work.

3. Artistic Influences
How do you balance historical or artistic influences with your personal style, and how do these influences manifest in your work today?
Answer: My travels have introduced me to different cultures, landscapes, and sacred places. These experiences inspire me to express universal themes of faith, hope, and peace through symbolic imagery while remaining true to my own artistic vision.

4. Emotion & Expression
How do you use your art to evoke emotions, and what role does emotion play in your creative process?
Answer: I believe that hope becomes most meaningful when it is born from suffering. My paintings acknowledge pain but always seek to reveal light, comfort, and the possibility of healing beyond it.

5. Standout Projects
Can you share a project that stands out to you and describe the creative process behind it?
Answer: Walk as Children of Light
One of the most meaningful works I have created is Walk as Children of Light. It is a symbolic painting of the kindergarten I graduated from, where my teachers gave us the message, “Walk as Children of Light,” based on Ephesians 5:8. They taught me values that have guided my entire life. During difficult times, I sometimes questioned whether God was truly with me. Today, however, I feel protected by God, and I continue to ask myself whether I am living as a child of light, just as my teachers hoped. This painting is my expression of gratitude, faith, and the path I continue to follow.

6. Feedback & Growth
How do you incorporate feedback from critics or audiences into your work, and how do you balance this with your own artistic intuition?
Answer: I value thoughtful feedback because it helps me grow as an artist. At the same time, I remain faithful to the message, prayer, and hope that I wish each painting to carry.

7. Motivation & Inspiration
How do you stay motivated and inspired, even when facing creative blocks or challenges?
Answer: Music and prayer always renew my spirit. While playing music or spending time in prayer, new images often appear in my heart and gently guide me toward my next painting

8. Exhibiting Work
How do you feel about exhibiting your artwork with The Holy Art Gallery, and what does this opportunity mean to you?
Answer: It is a great honour to exhibit with The Holy Art Gallery. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my work with an international audience, and I hope my paintings can inspire hope, peace, and compassion across different cultures.

9. Future Goals
What are your long-term goals and aspirations as an artist, and how do you plan to achieve them?
Answer: My dream is to share my work with people around the world and offer healing, hope, and peace through art. I hope to continue exhibiting internationally and create paintings that bring comfort to every life they touch.

10. Audience Connection
What do you hope viewers take away from experiencing your art, and how do you aim to connect with them on an emotional or intellectual level?
Answer: I hope my paintings offer viewers a quiet moment of peace and remind them that light can still be found, even in difficult times. If someone leaves my work feeling comforted, hopeful, or encouraged to move forward, then I feel my painting has fulfilled its purpose.
