Open Calls for Artists 2027: Milan, Tokyo and the Year Ahead

The 2027 season is open, and the first two shows are already taking applications. If you are searching for open calls for artists in 2027, or planning where to exhibit next year, here is where the year begins.

Milan, 22 to 25 January 2027

Italy's contemporary art capital, in a double-height gallery at Via Felice Casati 29 with linear track lighting, freestanding partition walls and a glass floor panel looking onto the level below. The most architecturally dramatic space on our calendar, and the first show of 2027.

Tokyo, 26 February to 1 March 2027

Harajuku, one of the most creative neighbourhoods on earth. A white gallery in Jingumae, Shibuya, with freestanding partition walls forming intimate bays and a wall-mounted digital screen. Exhibit physically, or digitally from anywhere with nothing to ship.

Why apply early for 2027

Spots in each city are limited and submissions are reviewed as they arrive, so early applicants see the most options. Applying now also gives physical exhibitors months to plan framing and shipping rather than weeks.

How every show works

Physical and digital exhibition. Your art on the gallery wall, on digital screens, and in the exhibition catalogue that stays online after the show. All mediums, open theme, every country welcome. Applying is free. If selected, an exhibition fee confirms your place, and we take no commission on your sales.

Still open for 2026

Tokyo in October, London in October, Amsterdam in October and November, and New York in November. The full calendar is at theholyart.com.

25,000+ artists. 400+ exhibitions. 20+ cities. Start 2027 on a wall.
