Gulsah Hamurcu
Gulsah Hamurcu, Istanbul, Turkey–based visual artist exploring the relationship between fashion, identity, and visual storytelling through illustration. Her work is defined by hyper-color palettes, maximalist compositions, and surreal, animatic forms that transform graphic shapes into vibrant visual narratives.
Hamurcu focuses on altering forms, layering colors, and manipulating graphic elements to create eye-catching compositions that feel energetic and expressive. Each piece carries its own story, where color becomes a language of emotion and movement.
Inspired by Harajuku aesthetics, rave culture, maximalist fashion, and animation characters, her visual language also draws from movements such as Pop Art, Cubism, Futurism, and Surrealism, often drifting into psychedelic and cosmic territories.
Extending her illustrations beyond the page, Hamurcu transforms her artworks into wearable pieces through her fashion brand Frammy Land, bringing her colorful visual universe into physical form. For her, fashion becomes a moving canvas where identity, art, and self-expression meet.
Her practice celebrates individuality and the freedom of expression through color, art, music, and style, transforming inner chaos into bold explosions of visual energy
